Riding the jeeps at WA
Sometimes it's hard for me to reminisce that day five years ago because most of it is a blur. We really had no idea of the hardships, trials, separations, surgeries, etc that lay ahead for us. But hey, I don't want to focus on any of that. If you want, you can read back in my 2008 and early 2009 blog posts to read some of what went on then.
Here are some things he has started doing in the past year:
- Started walking right around his 4th birthday:)
- Feeds himself (still pureed only)
- Started calling me "Mama" and calls my name if he wants me, wants me to see something, or is startled
- has a huge love of technology and could spend all day on our touch screen computer doing online websites like starfall.com, or "borrowing" his sisters' leappads, also plays on his Nana and Papa's Ipad and Iphones
- is about 75% potty-trained!
Oh, did I mention he likes to have his picture taken??lol
- Since January, he goes to a special needs preschool 3 days a week and rides the bus (and loves it!)
- Will say "go!" if wants someone to go away:)
- As of August, he can identify all of his alphabet letters and knows most of their sounds
- knows all his numbers through 10
- Figured out that if you turn "h" upside down, it becomes a 4; L upside down is a 7, and W upside down is M! He enjoys telling me this everytime we review his letters and numbers.
- likes suckers
- will only wear his shoes to school and during the summer, he wore no shoes at all
- rode his first water slide and small roller coaster at Wild Adventures
- uses a magnetic board for drawing (or I might should say "scratches")
- still short in stature (he's about 38 in), but he walks tall!
- will venture off to his sisters' room and plunder..I mean play!
Probably too many more to list, so I better stop there! We are so proud of him and are so thankful for his presence in our lives!
